General FAQ
I'm interested in working together, what's step one?
Hi there! Please fill out our client application or give us a shout at lizzie@lumlydesignstudio.com and we will be in touch within 48 hours. If we are your perfect match, a non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking.
Scheduling
How far in advance do I need to book a project?
Since we operate on a first-come, first-serve basis we recommend that you reach out to us 2-3 months before you hope to begin a project. Upon booking, we provide you with a comprehensive project schedule to set expectations for all parties involved.
As the client, what are my roles and responsibilities to ensure that we stay on schedule?
We believe collaboration and honest feedback are key to the success of the project. The more info you give us, the better we can share your story and develop the brand of your dreams. The client is responsible for providing timely feedback based on our agreed upon schedule so that we can hit our deadlines. However, we understand that things come up. We cannot be held accountable for missed launch dates if a deadline is missed, but we will try our best!
Pricing + Payment
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! For each project, we require a 25% deposit upon booking. Once the project has started, the remaining balance is due in installments throughout the remainder of the project. We value flexibility and work with clients to make sure they are comfortable with the payment schedule.
What are your rates?
Our standard packages have a flat fee and act as guidelines for what we offer. However, no two clients have the same project needs so we release our pricing as requests come in. Please fill out our client application in order for us to develop a quote.
What constitutes an add-on?
Upon booking, we make sure to outline all of our services in your contract. If you have additional requests we are happy to price them out for you or partner with someone who can provide the requested service. Some examples include photography, copywriting etc.
Branding
Can you design just a single logo for my business?
A logo on its own is only one piece of the branding puzzle. We are here to provide comprehensive design and for that reason, we do not offer a single logo design.
What constitutes a round of revision?
We offer revisions for each deliverable. One round includes updates to the design based on your feedback from the previous design. The more thorough and honest you can be with your feedback, the more you will get out of the process. The quantity of revisions is agreed upon during the contract development.
Web Design
What platform do you use for web design?
We use Figma to provide creative direction and build out a prototype that allows you to fully visualize the site before development. We then partner with a web developer to build out the live site on whichever platform you prefer (e.g. Squarespace, Shopify, Webflow)
What requirements are there for my business to be eligible for your web design services?
You must have a comprehensive brand identity. Either you have gone through the brand process with us or you have existing brand guidelines in place as a starting point. We need to understand all the pieces and parts (logo, fonts, color palette, etc.) before we move forward with booking.
Am I able to make changes after my website has launched?
We work with the web developer to come up with a plan that works best for you. We want you to feel confident navigating the site and offer support for 14 days after launch.
